Memory game is one of the games that children have always played. Over time, the materials from which the cards are made and the motifs on the cards have changed, depending on the environment in which they are used, the age to which they are adapted and, in general, the subject they deal with. Playing the memory game, children strengthen their visual perception, attention, and concentration while the process of socialization is encouraged. Socialization is a very important part of growing up and it teaches us how to behave, communicate and understand the world around us. Memory cards by the author Doroteja Juratović, in addition to the previously mentioned advantages, preserve Croatian material heritage through their theme and raise awareness among the youngest audience about objects used by our ancestors. Many of these items are no longer in use, but it is important to preserve them from being forgotten. Memory cards show various useful items, from clothes to everyday household items, in short, everything that children come across in their everyday life. With the help of these memory cards, today’s generations have the opportunity to get to know the names and appearance of these objects in the past and through playing with peers or adults they can develop cognitive skills, empathy and self-confidence.
